The Hartford Performs database is a resource for all PK - 8 Hartford Public School teachers to view the arts integration programs available through Hartford Performs for the school year. Every program listed under Hartford Performs has gone through an application and selection process to ensure each program aligns with learning standards in both core curriculum subjects and the arts. PK - 8 th Grade Classroom Teacher Arts and/or PE Teacher Administrator or Non-Educator What's the Difference Between Hartford Performs Access, Alignment and Integration Programs? Access Experiential Alignment Participatory Integration Students demonstrate understanding through creating Definition Short-term exposure and/or experiences in an art form. These experiences may connect to learning in other curriculum areas but students take on the role of an audience member or observer. This includes: offsite or in-school performance(s) or museum tours. Single or multi-day workshop that connects art forms to English, Math, Science or Social Studies and bridges ideas between the disciplines. This may also include a performance that has a follow-up workshop with students. An approach to teaching in which students construct and demonstrate understanding through an art form. Students engage in a creative process which connects an art form and another subject area and meets evolving objectives in both. Integration programs are short-term residencies that require planning time and collaboration with classroom teachers. Integration programs are fixed or adaptable short-term residencies that have pre-determined objectives and learning activities developed by the teaching artist. For the program to be successful, planning time and collaboration with the classroom teachers is required.
